With the recent released hit show “Surviving R. Kelly” causing a media storm, it’s not a lesser known fact that the artist has been sketchy for a while now. He has been accused of rape, pedophilia and keeping sex slaves in his house for quite some time. Even his marriage to Aaliyah occurred when she was only fifteen years old. Though her parents agreed to the wedding, it’s obvious that he’s been up to these crimes for quite some time.
Recently however, a video was unearthed of R. Kelly “recruiting” women at a concert in Ethiopia. It’s unclear when the concert took place, but the oldest video of the event was posted 8 years ago. He is seen serenading the crowd asking if they “got their passport and their shots” to return with him to America. It’s bizarre and seemingly innocent, but as we all know know, it hardly is a joke.

Multiple celebrities have come out apologizing for ever working with Kelly, most notably Lady Gaga. She worked with him on her song “Do What U Want” which was released on her Artpop album. The song is cryptic and literally states “Do what you want with my body”. It seems as though as ironic as the song is to have R. Kelly featured on it, she was unaware of his situation. She posted a statement saying this:
We really hope with everything coming out in the past few months that Kelly will be arrested and put under investigation.
